15.1.11

The tale of Mickey and Mallory Knox, two victims of traumatized childhoods that became lovers and psychopathic serial murderers irresponsibly glorified by the mass media. The message, if you can call it that, is that we are obsessed with violence, and the director Oliver Stone exposes our love for it and spits it back in our faces. Apart from the great role played by Woody Harrelson and Juliette Lewis, i have to distinguish the well done carachter by Robert Downey Jr.
The three words that will better describe this movie would be:
Hypnotic ,Violence and Media.

The film follows the story of Léon, played by Jean Reno, a professional hit man for an Italian Mob crew run by Danny Aiello. He lives next door to a ferociously independent 12-year-old girl named Mathilda - played by then newcomer Natalie Portman, whose father is involved in drugs and crooked cops. One day, a crew of the cops - lead by Gary Oldman in an over-the-top performance - kills her entire family while Mathilda is out buying groceries. Taking pity on her, Léon hides her in his apartment when she returns to save her life. Mathilda learns of Léon's hit man profession and decides to follow in Léon's footsteps as a 'cleaner.' She then falls in love with him and manages to reawaken emotions within Léon he has kept locked away as part of his profession. Good writing, and two well palyed roles.

From the Director of "Requiem for a Dream" cames now "Black Swan", another masterpiece to echoes for eternity.
The role played by Natalie Portman, it is superb, something that this actress as accustomed us.It came as an surprise,
because when thinking about Opera in the fisrt point, i would not think an psychological thriller set in the world of New
York City ballet would be so amazing.

In the end it is an must see movie.

A WALTZ BETWEEN, HUMANITY, MEMORY AND WAR.

14.5.10

The first "long movie" by Samuel Maoz, that more than talk about war or show the war, can make you feel the war.
An "you must see movie".

11.5.10

Take your life in to the hands of, Dr. Death

Not so much bloody, but still funny.

22.3.10

"Shutter Island" a psychological thriller directed by Martin Scorsese an unusual way to this director, but still a masterpeace came from this really good author.

10.3.10

"The Hurt Locker", academy awarded with 6 oscars. Essentialy in my point of view more than a good war film, a state of condicion. With a good writing by Mark Boal.

9.3.10

Berlin electronic music composer Martin (Paul Kalkbrenner), known as DJ Ickarus, is touring with his manager and girlfriend Mathilde (Rita Lengyel) from club to club around the globe and is about to release their biggest album to date. However, all of his plans are thrown out of kilter after Ickarus is submitted to the emergency ward of a psychiatric clinic high on drugs after a gig- A tragicomedy in Berlin of today.

THE DREAMERS // BERNARDO BERTOLUCCI

In Paris in a time of revolution, came a dream inside the walls of an apartment in the center of the city,a dream away from realitty.
A dream that only can be possible with Eva Green (Isabelle), Louis Gareel (Theo), Michael Pitt (Matthew), but above all with the master vision of Bernardo Bertolucci.
A good opurtunitty to learn about film with the history of cinema ,and to learn about cinema with the film.
Another master piece from the Italian director.

7.2.10

UP IN THE AIR // JASON REITMAN

The illusion of appearances, contemporary ironies, this a movie about the seduction of living in the clouds, and the shock that cames when the plain lands.
Features George Clooney in a good role, proving that is a really good professional, instead of a "star". Its a really good movie,  what normally dont came out of hollywood.
And with the film of the brothers Coen is one of the movies that should win the oscar in my opinion.

2.2.10

THE TRUMAN SHOW // PETER WEIR ,1998

The world is a estage.Starring Jim Carrey in the role of Truman Burbank. This shows how life can be "small" or so "huge" at the same time.
Is a good film that talks about, control, free will, and how your life can be managed. I could talked about the " Big Brother", but the thing here is that the subject here doesnt know that he his the "show" , the center of atention.
Also takes a good message of the power of telivison, and the effect on people, and public opinion.

"WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE" // SPIKE JONZE

"Where the wild things are" is an adaption from the book of Maurice Sendak with the same name, being this a "classic" from the american literature, just like "Huckleberry Finn" from Mark Twain, its as story with 46 years old but that shows an impressive modernity.
I say this because this book show the kids as they are a "wild thing" not that tipicall kid that as good behaviour and goes to bed when is told too. With the art of Spike Jonze this becames a really interesting movie.
And like Einstein said " People do not grow old no matter how long we live. We never cease to stand like curious children before the great mistery into wich we were born".

1.2.10

SPIKE JONZE

A really great director, you should definitly chek it out.

THE ROAD // JOHN HILLCOAT

A film about human condicion. A good role by Viggo Mortensen.

INVICTUS

Its a film from the director Clint Eastwood, alltough there is not the marks of him in this film, some may say that this was a "gift" from Esatwood to Morgan Freeman, wich role is good, i looks to be born to do this role of Mandela, Matt Damon, also features in this film but the carecter dont have so much "strenght", its a good movie about Mandela, that´s the good thing about it.

"I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.",Invictus by William Ernest Henley
